Everyone deserves a reset.

Our Approach to Web Accessibility

Web accessibility is about ensuring that people with disabilities can perceive, understand, navigate, and interact with the web, and that they can contribute to the web. At The Recess Reset, we believe that everyone should have equal access to information and resources on our website.

Accessibility Features on Our Site

We have implemented various accessibility features on our website to make it more user-friendly for individuals with disabilities. Our site conforms to the WCAG 2.2 guidelines, ensuring that it is accessible to the level of AA. Some of the key features include:

  • Utilizing the Accessibility Wizard to identify and address potential accessibility issues
  • Setting the language of the site
  • Establishing clear heading structures on all pages
  • Adding descriptive alternative text to images
  • Implementing color combinations that meet the required color contrast
  • Minimizing the use of motion on the site

We are fully committed to achieving compliance with the established accessibility standards and are constantly working to improve the accessibility of our website.

In some cases, certain pages on our site may contain content that is not under our direct control. As a result, there may be instances where partial compliance with the accessibility standard is declared for these specific pages.

We could not add control buttons to two of the .mp4 video files -- both of which play on a continuous loop. We have instead provided additional site text to explain what they say. In addition, the three clipboard images showing sample Recess agendas are not live text. If you need require a separate pdf overview, please contact us and we would be happy to provide you a separate file.
